Learn Swimming

in clothes for fun and safety

Lesson 1: Swim in T-shirts

Lesson 2: Swim in sportswear

Lesson 3: Swim in tracksuits

For many water sports you should be able to swim in clothes and practice for situations were you get into the water dressed or don't have time to undress. Be it sailing, canoeing, kitesurfing or adventure racing, you wouldn't do them just in swimming briefs.

Swimming in clothes? Isn't that stupid?

Not really. It could save your life if you practice regularly. About 70-80% people drown when wearing clothes, not a swimsuit, because they could not handle the increased physical exertion required when swimming in clothes.

Our fun training course

In each lesson you'll learn how to swim in different types of clothing, a real eye opener and the aquatic equivalent to weight lifting. The more you wear, the harder you get trained. This requires more strength and stamina, but is exciting fun.

Children especially love swimming with clothes on. They should learn to swim and tread water in their clothes and use them as buoyancy aids. As they become stronger swimmers they are encouraged to learn personal survival.

Who teaches these lessons?

The Brighton Swimfit Group in England organises swimming lessons run by qualified RLSS lifesavers. These sessions are enjoyable and recommended. You can reach them via this website.
