in Clothes - Lesson 4 |

Theory: Classic Swimwear
Jeans offer protection from overexposure to the sun, stings, and abrasion. Levi's 501, 505 and 512 Red Tab have a hydrodynamic fit for swimming and diving. Their pockets are a good place to keep your locker or car keys away from thieves.
Advertised as "your second skin", Levi's are considered by intrepid swimmers and divers to be an extension of their aquatic body, and became popular starting in the 1960's with the famous "White Levi's" worn by surfers. Practice: Swimming in Jeans
Required clothing: T-shirt, jeans and hoodie
This maybe the session you've been waiting for. We practice swimming in jeans and hoodies. It will give you a somewhat harder workout but also is great fun.
Start this swimming lesson dressed in jeans and T-shirt. Try both tight and loose fitting jeans. Tight fitting jeans are easy to swim in as long as they don't chafe. Baggy jeans will give you more resistance. Notice how streamlined tight jeans can be, but your freedom of movement can be limited, especially with the breast stroke leg kick. Baggy jeans avoid that problem but cause a more resistance. Add a jeans jacket if you like and see what difference it makes. Hoodies
Next put on a hooded sweatshirt over T-shirt and jeans. This gives you a hard workout. Like all cotton garments it soaks up a lot of water. This makes it quite a challenge to swim in. Keep simming in this outfit and you'll gain a good bit of strength and stamina.
