Guest lost key in pool.

Wellness Resort

Tom worked as a pool attendant at a wellness resort hotel that caters mainly for young active professionals.

The management knew that Tom loves swimming in clothes, which is why he got the job. His task was to assist the guests in any way, even if it meant getting into the pool right away.

He was given four white uniforms, loose fitting shirt and white pants. In case he got wet, he could get changed if he wanted to. Soon he would understand why.

He put on his new uniform and headed for the pool. It was sheltered by trees, next to a veranda. A high chair was provided for when he was lifeguarding the pool.

First Dip

One of the guests had dropped his hotel key into the pool and asked Tom to retrieve it. Tom fetched the net on a long pole and tried to get the key. It didn't work.

"Maybe you just jump in and get it," suggested the guest, "that's what you're here for, right?"

Tom nodded with a smile and jumped in, got the key and handed it back to the grateful guest.

He was surprised to find his uniform comfortable and pleasant to wear in the water. While he was in the pool, he swam around to pick up some leaves and sticks.

Then he walked around the pool area to check that all was in order. His wet uniform felt good out of the water, not clingy, just comfy. Tom decided to keep it on and let it dry in the warm breeze.

Guests Forgot Swimwear

Two young guys showed up and settled on sunbeds right next to the pool. They introduced themselves as Steve and Andy, looking fit in their blue jeans and white T-shirts.

"Did you just go for a swim with all your clothes on?" asked Steve looking at Tom.

"Yes," Tom replied, "it is part of my job. I had to fetch a room key for a guest. Excuse me for a moment." Tom had spotted a white object in the pool and jumped in to get it. Then he climbed out next to his guests.

"Looks like you really enjoy swimming in your clothes, right?" asked Andy.

"Yes, actually I do, which is way they hired me as pool attendant. Others might be too hesitant when it comes to helping the guests."

"Is it easy to swim in clothes?" asked Steve.

"Depends what you wear," said Tom, "this uniform is designed for easy swimming and dries quickly."

"We left our swimwear in the room as we didn't plan to come by the pool. May we swim in jeans?"

"Sure, no problem," said Tom, "and keep your T-shirts on if you like."

Andy and Steve looked at each other with a grin and slowly entered the pool at the shallow end. Then they swam a few lengths and splashed around.

"How's it going?" asked Tom as he sat down on the pool edge, dangling his legs in the pool. Looking at his damp uniform, he felt the urge for another swim.

"Yes, it is more fun than we thought," replied Andy, "clothes feel really good in the water."

"If you like it, learn more about it," suggested Tom as he slipped into the pool and climbed onto an air bed.

"You can learn swimming in clothes?" asked Andy surprised.

"Yes," explained Tom, "it's great fun. I'm running a classes for this."

"What do you teach there?" queried Steve.

"You'll learn about survival, what clothes are best for different water sports and other wet activities, and have a chance to try out different outfits. The class is very hands on, or shall I say, clothes on."

Andy and Steve looked at each other and said they'll be at the next one. Then they left the pool to go for lunch.

Tom also got out of the pool, changed into dry clothes and resumed cleaning the pool area.
