Wacky Wet World: Our Mission

By bringing together watersport and outdoor fans this site serves as a hub for a global community of people who enjoy a more interesting style of swimwear.

Wacky Wet World is an online magazine with information on wet outdoor activities and sports, message forums, a chat room, user interaction and popular photo albums. It encourages interaction from readers through feedback and talk forums making it the top address for people who enjoy this hobby.

Our History

Established in October 1996, Wacky Wet World was created by the web designers of intereliant as a protest against internet censorship. Rather than showing adult content, they did the opposite and published some photos of fully clothed people, but soaking wet.

It turned out to be a great success with the readers. Starting with a single page it soon became the market leader of the wetlook fashion scene serving over 100,000 unique visitors a month; and that's only those who have Internet access and have found this site. There are lots more.

Why mostly Men?

It is our niche in the market place. There are lots of websites with photos of women. We provide eye candy for women and men. About 1/3 or for readers are women, 1/3 are gay men, the rest are straight men.

Fashion: Express Your Individuality !

Plain old normal swimwear is so boring! Look at any swimming pool or beach and you can barely tell the people apart, so much do they look alike.

There is now a growing trend towards wet clothing in the media. Wetlook becomes more popular and wet adverts or music videos show up all over the place. The fashion industry has begun to produce some interesting new swimwear alternatives. We've tried and tested the finest swim fashion we could find.

Sunsafe Swimwear has become quite fashionable, especially in Australia. Some people wear their sun protection clothing even when they are not swimming outdoors, like indoor swimming centres, schools or shopping malls. Jeans remain the classic swimming outfit for the individualist. Combined with a T-shirt, lycra swimshirt, hoodie or anorak they are always in fashion.

Lifestyle Choice

In America this is just becoming a new trend sport. In Europe it's more popular and people are getting organised, book pools, go together on holidays or plan other wet events. In Thailand most people swim fully clothed, mainly out of modesty and also because they don't want to get sunburned.

Stings from beasties in the sea, pneumonia, or skin cancer from sunburn can kill or leave permanent damage. Your clothes will dry off in a short while. Give that some thought.

Sports

Swimming in clothes is growing into a new trendsport. You see it in films, adverts, and pools or beaches near you. Several websites already mention "wackywet" as a new sport.

Now our readers can join in the fun, build up extra stamina and enhance their health. Clothes in the water are the aquatic equivalent to weight lifting. The extra resistance provides great exercise. There are many sports where one can get soaking wet. This site contains info and photos of these wet sports.

Many images on this site are contributed by our readers.
