Wacky Wet Pool Games

Marco Polo

This is a classic pool game. In this game one person is "IT". This person starts in the middle of the pool and closes his eyes. The other players get in the pool away from the person who is "IT". The object is for the person who is "IT" to touch one of the other players. He does this by blindly searching the pool for anyone else. When the person who is "IT" screams "MARCO", the other players HAVE to say "POLO". Then he can try to find the other players by their voices. If he touches another player, that person is now "IT". You can just play for fun, or keep score.

Recommended clothing: Hooded tops (sweatshirts or anoraks). Pull the hood over your eyes as a blindfold. You can easily push it back in case of trouble.

Water Baseball

You'll need a beach ball for this game. Set up "bases" around the edges of the pool. One team pitches the beach ball by throwing it in the air to the team who is at bat. This person hits the ball back. If it is caught, he is out. If it goes out of the pool, the batter is out. If the ball bounces off the edge of the pool, but stays in, it's a home run. There's only one strike per out, so don't miss. You can play this with any number of people. If you don't have enough people, you can use "ghost runners". After three outs the other team is up.

Recommended clothing: Baseball uniforms or other comfotable sportswear.

Water Dodge Ball

Divide up the people playing into two teams. You can pick captains and shoot Rock-Paper-Sissors to see who picks first. Each team gets a separate side of the pool and a beach ball. When the game starts you throw the beach ball at the other team trying to hit them. If you get hit, you're out until the next round. If you catch a ball thrown at you, the person that threw it is out. The team with the last person in wins the round. Play an odd number of rounds. The team with the most rounds wins.

Recommended clothing: Jeanswear (slows you down a bit), Lycra bodysuits (for a fast game), or rainwear. In other words, whatever you like.

Whatever game you end up playing, remember it's just game. So go have some wet fun!
