NuI reviews sportswear on the beach and in the water.

He wears all the clothes at home to see how comfy they are over time.

Testing rain gear in the shower he enjoys a lot.

Sports Fashion Reviewer

Posted by Nui from Thailand on 28 May 2014

Almost every week a parcel arrives with sportswear to review for fashion websites. It contains swimwear like stingersuits, swim shirts, often rainwear like anoraks, pants and ponchos, as well as the usual sports kit or footie gear.

My favourite clothes are rainwear and cotton sportswear, like jogging suits and hoodies. They feel so soft and cosy. Every time a new parcel arrives I get excited and put the review clothes on right away.

Test Criteria

During many sports you may get wet, or take a shower afterwards in your kit. An important consideration is how these clothes feel when wet. My clients know that I'm expert in testing this.

The questions they seek answers for are:

  1. Does it feel good on the skin?
  2. How does it feel when dry?
  3. How does it feel when wet?
  4. Is it easy to swim in?
  5. Is it durable?

Dry Test

To begin each review I wear the clothes around my home with nothing underneath to get a good idea of what it feels like when dry. I work up a good sweat during my morning exercise, and then enjoy a shower to find out how the clothes feel when wet.

Shower Test

Any rainwear I always test in the shower first, wearing a long sleeve T-shirt and thin cotton pants underneath. If the rainwear leaks, I can see the wet spots on my clothes.

All rainwear leaks more or less, especially around the collar or hood. It's just a question of time. I stay in the shower until I'm completely soaked through and measure the time it took.

Running Test

Once it has dried out, I go for a run along the beach to see how comfy the review clothes are. In the afternoons there is often a heavy shower for a short while and I get soaking wet.

Swim Test

It is important that the review clothes work well and feel great when swimming. My clients expect me to do this right, because clothes that are not easy to swim in can be dangerous. I go for a long swim or play with friends in the water for an hour.

Finally I take shower on the beach to rinse the clothes and let them dry on me as I go home. If I'm not too exhausted, I play in the shower at home to relax.

Durability Test

For durability testing I wear the review clothes for a week or two almost all day long, including my daily fitness exercises and swims. Nice work.
