Look good in the stylish swimwear we've found and tested for you. Fashion and lifestyle magazines feature sun protection swimwear to help you look cool. You no longer have to go topless but can express yourself with great shapes, textures and colours.

Sun Protection

Just as you can select a sunscreen on the basis of its SPF rating, you can now select your clothing on the basis of its UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor). This measurement, which was developed in Australia, is gaining international acceptance.

Are Jeans Safe in the Sun?

The typical white cotton T-shirt so popular in summer has an UPF rating of only seven, while dark blue denim blue jeans are UPF 1,000. Combine your jeans with a sun protection swimshirt and you're safe all day long.

Clothing, wet or dry, must be part of a comprehensive sun-protection program that also includes sunscreens with an SPF of 15 or higher, hats with a wide brim all around, eyeglasses that block ultraviolet radiation, and shade, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
